Singer Daisy Gray opens the runway for Bereshift at FTL MODA for NYFW, after an outstanding vocal performance while playing the Grammy’s baby white piano.
Samsung’s technology, and scenes by Bunny Paige, accompanied almost 300 guests to the breathtaking atmosphere of Fllumae’s journey.
The worldwide acclaimed modesty garment line, presented its capsule in purple and lavender tones on the background of a clip that showed their creators’ story, through the days of escaping the war in Somalia, until their settling in the USA. A story of loss, love, sacrifice and commitment that resulted in Fllumae’.
Top model Maytee Martinez, already part of the DVF’s TV series, opened the runway and Miss Kentucky wrapped it.
The spotlight then turned to the Grammy’s white baby piano, and to the beautiful and amazingly talented singer Daisy Gray.
She lit up the lounge with two moving performances, Zombie, a tribute to recently departed Dolores O’Riordan of the Cranberries, and Gray’s version of Chris Issak’s Wicked Game (amassing 2.6 million views on YouTube and recently released on Spotify and other major channels). Gray, who after several years in the studio writing about her life’s experiences and turning her deepest emotions into lyrics, just completed recording her much anticipated original music, soon to be released. Gray reached the hearts of guests with her powerful, soul stirring voice before opening the show for Bereshift.
‘Innovative, unique, amazing’: these are the most often heard reactions to the debut of Italian label BERESHIFT on the US scenes. Owner Susy Fuccillo wrapped her presentation walking hand in hand with Daisy Gray, with her looks receiving a standing ovation. Edgy but classy, contemporary but with iconic elegance, this line has already received attention from a few concept stores in the US.
Both labels will be represented by FTL MODA at its 7th Ave showroom, and will follow the high profile marketing activity that leads FTL around the world for major publications.
THE PERUVIAN PEHMODA PROJECT
A clip presentation of the PeHModa project, and ten Peruvian labels of excellence enriched the intermission, showing a project of sustainability, for its focus on promotion of luxury baby alpaca wool and pima cotton, mainly generated out of the strong heritage and identity of women from the Arequipa and Cusco areas in Peru’, and yet strongly attuned to the most contemporary European trends.
A return to ‘pure fun,’ as expressed by the linked hashtag #HatersHaveNoFun was the production’s theme.
“It is important for us at FTL MODA to continue to be role models and pioneers of the worldwide fashion industry. While preparing a technologically advanced program for Spring Summer, we wanted to bring the focus on fun as a lifestyle, a commitment to gratefulness and joie de vivre for this wintery days, and spread these values while the world is really in need of kindness and more authentic joy,” commented producer Ilaria Niccolini.
Pink sportsacks with a cartoon pig as gift bags, and bold, large, dreamy cloud-lights were hanging from the ceiling of the lounge.
A parterre of influencers, high profile editors, and a few key buyers attended the show, that was supported by Samsung, FWO, Kimberly Bosso LA, Wellington SPA, Kiyo Igarashi, Zico.
The FTL MODA showroom will represent both lines for the North American market.
